Taylor's Tips
1. Listen to the tips from Barry and the team for they know the lake back to front. Yes after a few days if you are not catching which is doubtful then try something different.
2. The lake is full of big fat fish that eat a lot and want to eat more. The more boilies you can give them the better, although pellet and particles will attract carp lots of this bait will be eaten by the other species present in the lake, boilies are for carp. It makes sense to use SBS Boilies and pellets for that's what they have been fed on since their introduction.
3. Bait Boats are onsite so use them for getting near to those hide away spots, the no fishing bank and the overhanging trees.
4. When you stop catching put more bait in for they have ate everything in your swim and are looking for more, give them more for you have spent good money on the trip an extra few bob on bait will make the trip complete.
5. When you are using a Bait Boat you can do away with lots of the rig tube and stiff rigs needed for casting. I used a eight inch silk worm hooklength and three ounce lead with a couple of inches of rig tube above it.
6. If you haven't had a run in four hours reel in and take your bait back out. I am a great believer in that moving your bait a matter of inches can make the difference between a take or not. Don't change your bait just the spot it is in.
7. Barry will whistle you when breakfast and high tea is ready personally I reel my rods in and bait up the swim with the Bait Boat. Now I go for my meal and the one to two hour rest with no lines in the water will help the swim a lot more than staying in your swim and having food delivered.
8. If you are struggling with anything don't wait for half the week to go, ask Barry for his help and within a short time he will get you a take. I know this to be true for Barry told me where to stick the baits and at one time I had two fish at once.
9. I used boilies in dip and these French carp do like smelly baits.
Last but not least these fish are extremely fit and strong and even after a long fight they will thrash about in your arms. So be extra careful and at all times use the padded unhooking mat.
Look after these fish for one day they will be 60lb+
